Live Andar Bahar — India's Simplest Live Table Game
The ultimate game of pure intuition and rapid settlements. Watch the opening joker card appear, then pick whether Andar or Bahar matches the rank first. Streamed live from Ezugi and Evolution studios with friendly Hindi dealers and a ₹100 entry.
How Andar Bahar is played
Andar Bahar (traditionally known in South India as Katti or Mangatha) is renowned for having the simplest rules in the gaming world. The round begins with the dealer shuffling a standard fifty-two card deck and dealing one single card face up into the middle of the table. This is known as the Joker or trump card.
Players then have approximately fifteen seconds to place their bets on one of two boxes: Andar (the inside side) or Bahar (the outside side). Once bets close, the croupier begins dealing cards alternately between the two boxes, starting on Andar. The round concludes the precise moment a dealt card matches the numerical rank of the middle Joker card. If your chosen side contains the matching card, your wager wins.
Why the odds are close to even
Andar Bahar offers one of the fairest odds profiles in any live casino setting. Because the dealer always deals the first card to the Andar side, Andar possesses a very slight statistical advantage: it will hit the matching card approximately 51.5% of the time, while Bahar hits 48.5% of the time.
To account for this minor mathematical edge, studio providers pay out at 0.90 to 1 on winning Andar bets (a ₹100 bet returns ₹190) and 1 to 1 on winning Bahar bets (a ₹100 bet returns ₹200). Overall, the theoretical return to player on the main Andar bet is a generous 97.85%, while Bahar provides 97.00%.
Side bets and payouts
Modern live tables from Ezugi and Evolution include exciting side bets that allow punters to win much higher multipliers than standard even-money returns:
Total Cards Dealt Side Bet
Wager on how many total cards the dealer must deal before the match occurs. Predictions are grouped into intervals: 1-5 cards pays 3.5 to 1, 6-10 cards pays 4.5 to 1, while rare long deals extending beyond 41 cards pay up to 120 to 1.
First Card Match Side Bet
Bet that the very first card dealt to the Andar box will match the Joker card rank immediately. If it hits on card one, the payout is 15 to 1.
Table limits
Live Andar Bahar is remarkably friendly for beginners. Minimum bets start from just ₹10 on standard Ezugi tables, allowing you to participate in ten full rounds with your initial ₹100 deposit. Experienced punters can scale up to ₹1,00,000 per round, making this classic Indian title accessible to all types of bankrolls.
Andar Bahar vs Dragon Tiger
Punters often compare Andar Bahar to Asian Dragon Tiger because both games are simple two-sided card contests. In Dragon Tiger, the round is decided on just two single cards: highest card wins, and rounds conclude in twelve seconds. In Andar Bahar, the number of cards dealt is unpredictable. The tension builds with every card the dealer slides onto the felt, providing greater suspense and longer entertainment per round.
